LOCATION: Frenchville, Pennsylvania DOB: 05/01/2023 We can transport anywhere! Meet Pumpkin-affectionately known as 'Punkin' or Pumpkin Pie-and true to her nickname, she's as sweet as they come. At just 1.5 years old, this young Great Dane is full of life, curiosity, and love, with a heart as big as her paws. Pumpkin's story began in hardship. She showed up at the doorstep of a kind-hearted woman, emaciated and dragging a heavy chain embedded painfully in her neck. It took surgery to remove the chain, but nothing could dim her spirit. With a little care and a lot of love, Pumpkin began to heal-and with healing came all the joyful energy of a young pup who's ready to live. Now fully recovered and spayed, Pumpkin is soaking in the world like a sponge. She's eager to learn and has already mastered sit, shake, treat, and bed. She's house trained and will do her business on command. Stay is a work in progress, and leash skills still need polish, but she's bright, willing, and just needs someone to show her the way. Pumpkin currently lives with her 77-year-old rescuer and a very spicy chihuahua. Let's just say the dynamic is... not ideal. Pumpkin, despite her size, is flustered and unsure how to handle the little dog's big attitude. When she met medium to large dogs, though, she was gentle, respectful, and offered sweet nose kisses. We're looking to place her in a home with friendly dogs closer to her size-she's been through enough and doesn't need more drama from a six-pound boss. As for cats, she had a short meet-and-greet and showed playful curiosity, but the cat was not impressed. Still, Pumpkin didn't push-it was more of an invitation to play than anything predatory. Pumpkin is a beautiful balance of softness and puppy energy. She wants to learn, she wants to love, and she wants to belong. With structure, patience, and some continued training, this girl is going to blossom into the most loyal and loving companion.
