About DINKY

DINKY is a super cute 3 year old, 10.2 pound Maltipoo who came to us as an owner surrender. He was not used to being a pet and it took him a little bit of time to feel comfortable in a home, but now he's doing great! DINKY is as sweet and easygoing as they come. He loves meeting new people and happily greets everyone with a wag. Playtime is a favorite, he enjoys toys, tug-of-war, and the occasional toy heist, but the 'bring it back' part is still a work in progress. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs and will share food bowls, treats, and toys without a fuss. DINKY's zoomies in the yard are a joy to watch, and he's equally happy playing chase or simply lounging in a cozy bed next to his person. He's learning to come when called, and while he doesn't know many commands yet, it's rarely an issue as he likes to stick close to his human. Still, a fenced yard is in his best interest. DINKY has a touch of separation anxiety when left alone but settles quickly and is never destructive. Potty training is going great with a regular schedule, and he sleeps quietly in the big bed, waking up when you do. Napping is one of his favorite hobbies! DINKY might be a bit timid around young children but would do well with older kids. He hasn't met cats yet, but would likely adapt fine to a dog-friendly one. Leash walking is still new for him, and while he hasn't gone on long walks yet, he does fine in the car, often snoozing happily in his seat. If you're looking for a loving companion who enjoys both playtime and downtime, DINKY is ready to be your buddy. He has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, neutered, heartworm negative, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. *A Place of Hope Rescue is a foster-based rescue located in Pensacola, Florida. We do not have a physical facility for visits. To meet or adopt one of our dogs, you must first submit an adoption application for review. Please remember to check your spam folder for any communication from our team. We adopt to homes within a 1-6 hour drive to Pensacola. Puppies and dogs with pending vet appointments, and some dogs with behavioral or medical issues are only adoptable locally. We do not ship or transport our dogs.
