Benson is a sweet, gentle, calm, playful, cuddly and loving, 18-month-old, glossy male brown tuxedo tabby cat with white chest and paws, and golden/green eyes looking for a loving guardian. Benson was found searching for food in a Cicero, Illinois, feral colony. He was trapped, neutered and ear-tipped in preparation to release him into the feral population. However, he turned out to be so incredibly sweet and friendly, that he's looking for an indoor-only situation. He's nervous at first around dogs, but seems fine with similarly gentle-natured cats upon proper introduction. He lets you easily pick him up, trim his nails, and hold him like a baby. He loves treats, the lick-able kind from a tube, or an anchovy or two! He also loves his toys and self entertains. He wraps himself up in a blanket and throws his toy mice and sparkle balls up in the air. He flies after feather wands and toy birdies. He has excellent litter box skills and uses his cat scratchers like a good boy. He sleeps with his foster mom for about half the night, and then finds a quiet place in her closet to curl up until the morning. Benson was so hungry coming into rescue that he was crunching on cat litter. Now that he's settled down and realizes that there's an endless supply of canned food, he's doing great! Benson is very healthy, dewormed, treated with revolution, neutered, microchipped, vaccinated for distemper and rabies, and virus-tested negative.
