She arrived deeply traumatized, but thanks to love and care, she's already come such a long way. Abby was born on 9/30/2023 and is 1 year and 6 months old at the time of this post. She's very sweet, and while she may take a day or two to warm up to new people, once she trusts you, she just wants to be your lap dog. Abby is learning to feel safe again-and all she needs now is a calm, caring home to continue her healing journey. Abby has a leg injury and will be receiving a second opinion soon to determine the best path forward-amputation may be recommended, but no decisions have been made yet. She previously lived with a Malinois and picked up a bit of a bossy streak-she has a funny little guarding instinct, especially when it comes to cozy spots like the couch! True to her beagle roots, a fenced yard or leash is a must-she's got that classic wanderlust and will happily follow her nose right out the door if given the chance! This gentle girl just needs someone who understands that healing takes time and love. She's waiting for that special person to help her feel truly safe and home again.
