About Louise

Louise is a 7 year old gentle giant, aka a Great Pyrenees mix. She spends most of her time sleeping and is quite the foodie. She has to be crated when she is left alone or she will sample from the garbage, counter, table or any other place she can access food. Louise is very low energy and has a typical stubborn GP attitude, she will do what you want - but will take her time doing it. She is great with all people, even the most rambunctious of kids, in fact she will love you to death if you let her. She loves pets and will endure ear pulls or eye pokes to get them, she fancies herself a lap dog even though she tips the scales at 90 pounds. While her bark is impressive, there is no bite behind it, Lou is very submissive and has never shown aggression. She does great with dogs of all sizes and while she has never met a cat I can't see her being much bothered by one. Louise has many great attributes, but would not make a good farm/livestock dog as she loves to eat poop, bedding or anything else she deems food worthy. This is the reason she is being rehomed, she has made herself quite sick on many occasions and even with a muzzle she has figured out how to get into things. We will miss having Louise as a part of our family, but for her own health and safety I think it's best that she finds a home and lifestyle that fit her better. For this reason she would do best in a home with a small fenced yard, or even an apartment where she can take a leisurely walk to do her business before returning inside to continue napping. She will come with a large crate, walking harness and a leash.
