RESCUES NEED FOSTERS- CAN ANYONE HELP? CHOW OR SIMILAR BREED EXPERIENCE REQUESTED, MUST BE LOCAL TO SHELTER OR NR A WILLING RESCUE We are in urgent need of finding a chow savvy foster and rescue for this very handsome chow boy named Booka after he ended up at the shelter as a stray with a chip. Sadly, his owner never showed. Despite being friendly and happy in video provided by the shelter on 5/8, with both people and other dogs, we were told he is 'not available for adoption to due to being a chow'. Staff was able to do all vaccines when he arrived on 4/25/25 no notes on behavior issues on intake .' He is also already neutered. We have again asked the shelter to reconsider Booka being allowed to go to a chow savvy adoptive home, but it is unclear if this will be allowed. Booka has been at this high intake shelter since 4/25 and now off his chip hold. With only a few days to possibly save him, if you are chow or similar breed savvy, and can foster or foster to adopt, please contact [email protected] asap or Southern California Chow Chow Rescue Network who is trying to find placement asap, and can try to pair fosters or interested parties with a willing rescue group. Ideally, we need a foster near the shelter or in N Cal.
