Please note that because all our dogs live in foster homes, we are unable to set up meetings with a dog unless we have a completed adoption application on file. Adoptions must be within a reasonable distance from Landenberg, PA for our volunteers to be able to conduct an in-person home visit. Meet Deuce! Deuce is a 15-year-old, 14 lb., Shih Tzu mix who was surrendered by his owner. He couldn't see well, and to him, the shelter was a loud, scary place. Deuce entered our rescue and given time to decompress. He had a few non-cancerous lumps removed, was neutered, and received a dental. Deuce was also diagnosed with dry eye and now receives daily eye medication which he is learning to tolerate. The cost for this is around $22 a month. Deuce can hear well but has limited vision. He is not fully housebroken and wears belly bands. Deuce eats special kidney food and the cost for this is $100 for a 17 lb. bag. Deuce walks well on a leash and would be ok without a fenced-in yard. He requires minimal stairs and would do best with older children due to his age. He is fine with being picked up, but doesn't like having his face touched. Deuce gets along well with other dogs and likes taking short walks.�%A0 Deuce is an older gentleman who is looking for a quiet, forever home to rest his furry head in. He loves nap time and treats and will happily follow his foster mom around the house. He isn't a lap dog, but will snuggle up in a doggy bed near you.
