About Rocky

Rocky Central Asian Shepherd mix, 8 years old Rocky has lived a very sad and difficult life. He spent most of his time locked in a small, filthy kennel without proper food, exercise, or human contact. He was officially seized from unsuitable conditions with police assistance. At the time of his rescue, he was both physically and mentally in poor shape - lying apathetically on a soaked piece of foam, unwilling to engage with anyone. We had to sedate him for transport because it wasn't safe to approach him otherwise. Thankfully, Rocky began to open up shortly after his arrival. Today, he's a gentle, calm 'teddy bear' who gratefully enjoys affection and his beloved sniffing walks through the forest. Rocky is an 8-year-old Central Asian Shepherd mix - a true giant of a dog. He has a calm temperament and needs time to build trust with people, but once he does, he becomes a loyal and affectionate companion. He is currently being treated for painful pressure sores on his paws, caused by prolonged neglect and lying in filth. Rocky is best suited for a home with a secure yard where he can move freely and relax. He would love to have a female canine companion, as he gets along well with females. He walks nicely on a leash and is house-trained. He is still getting used to children - cautious but not aggressive. He chases cats, although more out of fun than intent to harm. Rocky is not suitable for kennel-only living - he wants access to the garden but also a spot inside the house with his family. He's ready to protect his loved ones, though he remains naturally wary of strangers. He will go to his forever home vaccinated, microchipped, and treated against parasites.
