Mat��%BD%BDsek (registered name: Leonardo Da Vinci do Kapsy) Breed: Cavalier King Charles Spaniel with pedigree (KC registered) Age: 6 years At first glance, Mat��%BD%BDsek is a friendly little Cavalier who enjoys the company of both people and other dogs. He has previously lived peacefully in a household with cats as well. Most of the time, he is a sweet and affectionate dog. He handles public transport well, is comfortable in busy city environments, and gets along nicely with other dogs. He's also shown no issues with cats during visits. Mat��%BD%BDsek is deaf, but he closely watches his person and responds well to hand signals. Outdoors, he behaves very well and walks politely on the leash without pulling. He doesn't mind grooming or bathing-he's cooperative, allows his paws to be handled, and tolerates being lifted and blow-dried. He enjoys walks in the woods or around the city, but is also content to relax at home. He is fully house-trained. However, he does have some behavioral challenges. He has a tendency to guard objects-this could be shoes, the carpet, doors, or the couch. If he claims something as 'his' (and it could be anything), or if he gets startled (which happens easily due to his deafness), he may growl or even bite-sometimes just a warning snap, but sometimes hard enough to break the skin. He also tries to guard entry doors and shoes, especially in the evenings. If someone walks past these 'guarded' zones, he may react defensively. Mat��%BD%BDsek previously lived with an ill owner who wasn't able to give him consistent attention and behaved unpredictably. That history likely contributed to his defensive behaviors. We believe that with proper engagement and an owner who can create a clear, structured environment, reduce triggers for guarding, and remain calm and confident, Mat��%BD%BDsek can become a great companion. He will be fully examined at the vet-blood work, heart check, and neurological tests if needed.
