Courtesy Posting: Los Angeles, CA- LA City - South Los Angeles Shelter- ID #A2195323 - 'HARRISON' - ADORABLE, SWEETEST and CUTEST RED CHOW URGENT- AT LA CITY SHELTER WHICH IS MORE THAN FULL - PEOPLE FRIENDLY AND ENJOYS PETS, NEEDS A LOVING AND RESPONSIBLE HOME, OR FOSTER AND RESCUE ASAP Help! The LA city shelter is full and is asking for help for dear Harrison. Please help us find a good home, or foster and rescue, for this very adorable chow boy was walked into the shelter as a stray. The South LA shelter fondly named him Harrison. and estimates he is 6 years young and 61 lbs. Although he arrived in neglected condition with an unkept coat, and somewhat shy, Harrison was made adoptable due to his gentle demeanor. He can be seen in several video as calm and very sweet, enjoying pets, but shy at first, as is typical of the breed. They can be viewed here: https://youtube.com/shorts/aU0PDKEJ1rk?si=eXCHUdmL6cepV4ZK and https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1w-qh067d4RhnBfGsoFgaZaPtSDhbd9QI?usp=drive_link Harrison was also tested with other dogs in playgroup to which he either ignored or gave a warning to stay their distance, also common in a scary shelter environment when thrown into a playgroup with many dogs. A slow intro with other dogs is therefore recommended. Harrison has been neutered, vaccinated, and is ready to go home. He may also be fostered through the shelter if you are local enough, or if further away, we can try to pair you with a willing rescue. We were also given his complete behavior and medical notes, which can be shared, and should be requested and or interested. If you are interested to adopt Harrison, and can give him the forever and responsible home he so deserves, or are local and can foster, please contact the shelter directly using his link: https://24Petconnect.com/DetailsMain/LACT3/A2195323 and/or by calling the LA City shelter at (888) 452-7381 and ask for his ID. Please ALSO contact [email protected] or Southern California Chow Chow Rescue Network who is trying to assist the shelter with his placement, particularly if you need further help, or are interested in fostering or fostering-to-adopt for a rescue, given rescue groups also need a foster to usually save a dog. He could also use pledges towards medical for a rescue to help.
