Meet Gertie - A Sweet, Sassy Soul Looking for Her Person Gertie is a 2-year-old Chihuahua mix with a big personality in a small 30-pound body. She's spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative, and fully up to date on her vaccinations. She's also protected year-round with Simparica Trio to keep fleas, ticks, and parasites at bay. This little lady is crate trained, potty trained, and knows her routine well. She's moderately active-she enjoys short bursts of play and activity, but she's just as happy curling up next to you for a cuddle. Gertie absolutely adores attention, but only on her terms-she's not a fan of being pushed to do something she's not ready for, so patience and gentle guidance go a long way with her. She's still learning new commands and needs time to understand and trust. Gertie does great with adults and warms up nicely, but since she hasn't been around children, we recommend a child-free home. She also needs to be the only pet in the household, as she doesn't get along well with other dogs, cats, or other animals. Trips to the vet or car rides aren't a problem for Gertie-she handles them like a well! What she really needs is a calm, loving home with someone who understands that building trust takes time. In return, you'll have a devoted, cuddly companion who will love you deeply and loyally.
