Hi, I'm Akira! I'm a 7-year-old Husky with stunning blue eyes and a heart that's finally learning how wonderful life can be. I didn't get the best start, but thanks to some kind humans, I've been shown that love, patience, and belly rubs do exist, and I'm here for all of it now! I'm an adventure-loving girl who's all about going places. Car rides? Yes, please. New spots to sniff and explore? Count me in. I'd make an awesome walking or jogging partner if you like to stay active, nothing makes me happier than being out and about with my favorite humans. I can be a little shy at first, but once I warm up, I'm a total lovebug. I'll melt right into your lap for belly rubs, and did I mention I love being brushed? My foster mom even says I'm a breeze to bath, pretty impressive for a Husky, right? You can touch my paws, ears, even my teeth, I'm cool with it as long as I trust you. I get along great with my foster Husky sister (as long as she knows I go first!), and I'm curious about the cats here-sometimes I need a gentle reminder to give them space. I'm playful, silly, and absolutely obsessed with toys. Balls are my jam! Sharing might not be my strong suit yet, but I'm working on it, 'drop it' is more of a conversation than a command right now, but I'm getting there. I already know how to sit, stay, come, and wait (especially at doors), and I'm working on 'down,' 'leave it,' and 'drop it.' I'm smart and food-motivated, which means training is actually pretty fun! I walk beautifully on a leash and love saying hi to people and pups along the way. I can get a little sassy when I don't feel like doing something, but I respond best to calm, gentle guidance. Because I spent so much time in a crate before, I'm not its biggest fan, but if you give me a chew toy or treat, I'll go in without too much fuss. Really though, I just want to be near you. That's where I feel the safest and happiest. I'm spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready for my happily ever after.
