THE PAIN AND CONFUSION IS ALL OVER IS SWEET FACE- HE SITS IN A STONE, COLD GARAGE WHILE THE PERSON HE CALLS MOM IS OFFERING TO GIVE HIM AWAY FREE AND WE ALL KNOW THAT CAN MEAN BAIT DOG FOR OREO-LETS WORK TOGETHER AND GET HIM TO A SAFE PLACE 'The Garage' By a Dog Who's Still Waiting They say dogs don't understand much, but I know when things change. I know when love feels distant. I know when doors stop opening for you. I used to live inside. I had a bed - not as soft as hers, but it smelled like her. I'd curl up next to the couch where she'd sit, sometimes rest my head on her foot just to feel close. Mornings meant her voice saying 'good boy,' and nights meant dreaming in warmth. Safe. Loved. Then boxes started piling up. I didn't know what they meant at first. She was busy, always moving, always tired. One day, she opened the garage door and led me in. She brought my bowl, my blanket, my leash. But not her. She closed the door. Said, 'Just until we figure it out, okay?' It's been weeks. The garage smells like dust and oil. It's cold some nights, and loud when it rains. I bark sometimes, thinking maybe she forgot and just needs a reminder. She comes in, sometimes, to feed me or sit for a few minutes. I feel good when she's here with me Because I still love her. I don't know where she's going. But I've heard her say I can't come. That there's no room. That the place doesn't allow dogs. I'm not 'a dog.' I'm her dog. I don't understand why love has limits. I would have followed her anywhere. I still would. But I think I'm being left behind. She says someone will come for me. That they'll find me a 'new home.' But this was my home. She was my home. And I don't want a new one. I just want to go back inside. Let me know if you'd like a version for a rescue or adoption listing - I can tweak the tone to fit that purpose. Oreo is a 2 year old sweetheart. He is a good boy who is in a dangerous situation. His mom is moving to a place where she can't have animals so she is offering to give him away free with his cage and his favorite blanket. This is not only heartbreaking since his whole world will be blown to pieces, it's down right scary to think she will give him away free to just anyone. We've seen time and time again how that can end. Especially since Oreo is a Pitbull. This whole situation is breaking my heart for Oreo who has done nothing to deserve this. Oreo does good with other dogs and has all of his vaccinations. Please spread the word for this sweet boy and let's help him get to safety.
