About Chewy

My name is Chewy. I am a chow/retriever mix we think! I am a dog that has shown his potential to grow leaps and bounds in just a few weeks. I will continue to evolve and if you follow me you will probably see that my profile changes every so often. I am about 1 year old and when I went to my foster home a few weeks ago, I was definitely a very timid boy. I probably was never shown anything nice in my life. I am really putting in the effort now to enjoy my surroundings and try new things! I love other dogs; I tread lightly and hesitantly to make sure they realize I am not a threat. I am the same with people. I am timid at first but has learned to trust his foster humans. I am 'easy' in many ways, out of the puppy phase, I want to please, watch and learn and right now, I am pretty quiet! I am not a dog for people with high and quick expectations. I simply need a patient, consistent and secure home that can be gentle and let me come out of my shell on my own time. My next move to my forever home will be easier than my transition from the shelter to foster home. No I have the tools to take with me! I enjoy being close to my humans and dogs and I have every interest in learning how to fully dog soon! A fenced in yard is a must for me - just because it gives me the freedom to go at my own pace!
