Petunia had been living in an apartment. She lost her appetite and developed anxiety. She was surrendered to me, to find a new home for her. She was adopted by her previous owner 7 years ago, and was described as an Anatolian Shepherd, but I am submitting her sample to Embark to get an accurate breed description. She is very thin, narrow hips, long face, big soft floppy ears, curls up into a little ball on the sofa next to you. She is very loving and people focused. She chooses to be with you. In the pack, the other dogs focus on the perimeter and warning away intruders from the premises, but Petunia focuses on staying by her people and ensuring they are safe. Since staying with me, she has interacted well with multiple new dogs and my cats. She has not shown separation anxiety, but she still has low appetite, and needs to gain weight. She would probably do best with at least one medium to large dog companion for social stimulation, and could be happy with a single owner or with a big, boisterous family. She is gentle with children and good with new people. She is very sweet, was much loved by her previous owner, but the previous owners' circumstances and apartment living were having a significant impact on her well-being, so the owner is hoping she can find a new home to be loved again, and be happy and healthy.
