Meet Jetta: Owner Surrender/Rehoming - Rutherfordton, NC. About Jetta: Jetta is a 4 year old Black Australian Shepherd weighing 32 pounds (cryptic merle with white markings). She is spayed, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. She is also AKC and ASCA registered and up to date on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. Like many Aussies, Jetta is energetic and would need to have a fenced in yard to run, play, and be contained. Jetta does not get along with other dogs (unsure about cats) so she would need to be the only pet in the home. Jetta has a very sweet personality and loves to be with her person - or people - but does not do well with children or strangers. She did show aggression and nipped a child who wandered into her space on one occasion. In the evenings, Jetta loves to snuggle with her people on the couch. Jetta is a smart dog and knows basic obedience. She has worked with a couple of trainers over the last few years. Jetta is house trained and views her crate as a safe place when she is not interacting with her people. She loves food/treats, attention, and playing with her toys. Jetta also enjoys walks and hikes with her people, but may need to be muzzled due to her reactivity. She is very protective of her home and would make an excellent watch dog. The owner is surrendering her because she needs a home without any other dogs or children. Veterinarian or personal references are required.
