About Xayah

ASAP! I have a 3 yo husky named Xayah. pronounced [zy- yah]. She is spayed, has her vacs, and has a microchip. She is a good girl and is very very sweet. She is good with kids and cats - could just be my cat but she is fine with my cat. I can leave my cat alone with her in the house. As far as other dogs, yesterday i tried meeting with someone with her poodle and xayah got overwhelmed. Excited then defensive. i feel her being an only dog for so long she is defensive and acts agressive only around other dogs. She can get better once she gets more time with the other dogs. She didnt play much as a puppy, i assume. When i got her she didnt want to play fetch. I got her from the shelter when she was 1. She is super friendly and doesnt bark at cars. She doesnt like baths. Has a little bit of a problem staying for brushing. (Problem for me too) .She loves people. All people. She does just fine outside. She sits, she can lay down, she does low paws ( high five). She still needs some bit of work on stay. When you tell her 'bed', she goes to her bed. She is independent and ya know, shes a husky. she wants to do what she wants and has her own opinion. Her birthday is may 9th. When I got her she was scared and previous owner probably abused her? Thats how she acted at least. She doesnt like cages/crates. She busted and bent a thin metal bar cage i bought at tractor supply. So if youre good with crate training and get a thicker cage, she might just be fine. I took her in and gave her lots of love and treats. She does good inside. She has some slip-ups from time to time inside, however it is progress from when we first got her. This is my fault and I feel terrible, but if i didnt then she probably would be dead. I really wanted to give her a forever home. The reason I cannot keep her anymore is I have fibromyalgia - Its getting worse. I have taken medicine and supplements. Being over weight doesnt help either. And my husband does not feel comfortable with me keeping her if i struggle myself just to get up some days. Although, he never wanted her in the first place. I adopted her without talking to him first. I just love animals and I needed to save her. For me, it is hard to keep up with her. The brushing, activities. I do love her lots! I want her to be happy and healthy. The last thing I want to do is surrender her to the local shelter. I am trying to find someone who will take her and spoil her like I wanted to. Ive tried looking for 2 weeks. Pleaselet me know if you can take her. If you have any questions. I will answer them. Thank you. I have to have her gone by tomorrow. she will be at roane county animal shelter wednesday if no one gets her. [ may 7 wednesday]
