Meet TREY! TREY is a 6 month-old, 21-pound Dachshund mix puppy with a heart full of love and a spirit full of play. He was found wandering alone with what looked like a leg injury, but X-rays later revealed a birth defect-his right front leg bones were completely misaligned. His elbow sat where his shoulder should be, and his foot was permanently bent. Despite his efforts to use the leg, it posed a risk to his spine, and the safest choice was amputation. But someone forgot to tell TREY he was any different-before and after surgery, he's been nothing but joyful! He's a sweet, affectionate pup who loves attention from his foster mom and is always ready to snuggle on the couch after a good play session. TREY gets along great with all the dogs in his foster home and especially loves a good game of chase. He follows the pack and would thrive in a home with another small dog to play with. He's a fan of the outdoors-sunbathing and exploring-so a fenced yard would be a dream come true for him. We haven't had the chance to see how TREY does with cats or young children, but we believe he'd do well with older kids. He's also making great progress with potty training and uses a doggie door like a champ! He's even learned how to climb doggie steps to snuggle up in bed at night with his foster mom. TREY may have started life with some challenges, but he's not letting anything slow him down. He's ready to bring love, laughter, and a little extra sunshine to his forever home!
