About Dolly

Adoption Fee: $50
Pit Bull / Lab
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Dolly is a lab/pit mix who was adopted in Seattle from a rescue after coming from Texas. She is a loving cuddle bug who needs attention and will put her paw up for it constantly. She is still playful and can be energetic especially at the park. She loves most all other dogs including small dogs, but an overly energetic dog might not be right for her. She lived with a 10 year old german shepherd for four years and responded very well to having another dog around. She would do well with an Alpha man. My ex-partner was great with her and she listened so well to him. So far, Dolly has been great around kids and spent some time with the twins I nanny (age 3). Unfortunately, she is extremely prey driven and just a few days ago killed my roommate's cat who escaped out the window into our front yard. We have been keeping them in separate parts of the home for 6 months. This is also the second time she has got into a fight with a cat, the other was a neighbor's cat who luckily survived. On walks I have tried to train her with a gentle leader and using 'leave it' commands and other techniques. She still scans every driveway and stairwell for cats. I am using treats now which has helped so training is not completely off the table. The other incident at home was when she was territorial on the couch and bit (not held) my roommate's nose when she was in between us on the couch. I was moving quickly and she got reactive. We also woke her up from sleep so the trainer said she was resource guarding her sleep as well. It was an awful situation.I do not have the time or financial means to keep her anymore. I can see Dolly having a great home with someone who has time and the ability to care for her. This has been a horrible experience for my roommate and I and this can't go on any longer. I am pleading for any help possible. Please consider Dolly and help her find the most amazing forever home.
