About Rocky

This is Rocky. He belonged to my parents and came to live with us when their house had a tree fall on it. Before repairs could be done and they could get back into their home, my mother had several strokes and now my dad has taken on the role as her caregiver. This doesn't leave much time or patience for good ol' Rocky. I'm looking to rehome him, but I want to be completely transparent about both his good AND his bad traits. Rocky is about 3.5 years old and he's intact; he's average energy (unless excited) and super curious. I'm not entirely certain where he's at with vaccinations; any records my mom had are filed in 'mom's' filing method and scattered in boxes and such. I'd call the vet, but she took him to different local vets. I'm not even sure where to start. In any case, I would suggest a rabies shot at the very least. He does well with other dogs, but he's very eager to please his human and sometimes this translates as jealousy with other male dogs. Rocky is NOT housetrained (despite what my mother has said in the past). He walks well on a leash and he's not a picky eater. He has no food sensitivities that we've noticed. Rocky is not to be trusted around poultry or small animals (of which we have MANY). His instincts take over and he just can't help himself. He's somewhat standoffish at the moment, but he's had a lot of change. He needs someone that'll take the time to earn his trust. He's a SMART dog, so I feel like the same could be said for housetraining him. He just needs a home that has time and patience for him and he'll give all his love and loyalty in return. We're in Columbia, South Carolina. My son frequently works in Columbia, but lives in Greenville; we could get him to that area or anywhere in between pretty easily.
