Meet BITTY - The Ultimate Lap Dog! BITTY is a 5-year-old, 8.6-pound Chiweenie with a heart full of love and a deep desire to bond with her person. Surrendered by her previous owner, this sweet girl is looking for a calm, caring home where she can be someone's constant companion. BITTY is a chill, affectionate pup who thrives on closeness. She's friendly with everyone but can be shy when meeting new people. Once she warms up, she's a devoted snuggler who would happily spend all day curled up in your lap or tucked under the covers by your side. While she gets along with the small dog in her foster home and enjoys occasional zoomies and walks together, BITTY prefers to have her person all to herself. She may grumble if other dogs get too close when she's in her human's lap, but she's learning to share with positive reinforcement and gentle guidance. She would also be perfectly happy as an only dog-as long as she's not left alone too often. Though she has some separation anxiety, she remains well-behaved when left for short periods. BITTY doesn't play much with toys, but she enjoys having them around. She loves car rides, walks well on a leash, and enjoys sunbathing in a secure, fenced yard. She's not cat-tested, but her interest in chasing squirrels suggests she may not be ideal for a home with cats. Her interactions with kids are unknown but we believe she would not be the best in a home with small children. At night, BITTY sleeps in the big bed, burrowed under the covers and pressed close to her foster parent-her favorite place to be. BITTY has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, spayed, heartworm negative, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. Local applicants will be given first consideration. Puppies, dogs with pending vet appointments and dogs with behavioral issues are local adoption only.
