Scrim is a fun loving, curious, smart, affectionate & goofy dog! He loves to fetch tennis balls & brings them right back to whoever will throw it again! He understands: drop it; go lay down; no; sit; stay; get down; no licking; go ahead & eat now; hush; good boy; outside; get back; move - PLUS, he is thankful when he is fed & vocalizes his gratitude - which is hilarious! He rarely barks, unless he is startled. There is another dog he has been raised with for almost 3 years. She is a loving, beautiful, fixed, female Red Nose Pitbull/Chocolate Labrador mix. Scrim shows his love/affection for her by licking/nibbling on her neck & she absolutely loves it! We need to rehome Scrim ASAP please. Scrim was rescued from a homeless man by our friend as a very young, small & adorable puppy. Our friend had Scrim for a little while, but then became a single mother & moved into a small government housing apartment, where no pets are allowed. We took him in, thinking it would be a very temporary situation. We house trained him & installed a large dog door so he has constant access inside & outside of our home. He's up-to-date with all of his vaccinations, he's been neutered, gets his teeth brushed regularly & has his nails trimmed frequently. The veterinarian thinks he is a very healthy 42 pound Border Collie/Labrador mix. Sadly, now we only have 1 income & he's become a financial hardship for us. Plus, our friend is expecting another baby in June 2025 & unfortunately, she can not take Scrim back. We feel he needs a new home with a family who will spend time with him & a bigger yard would also benefit his energetic personality. We have a large crate that he sleeps in, a food bowl that's designed to slow down his eating & a non-drip water bowl. We will even provide all sorts of treats, PLUS a brand new, 40 pound bag of Diamond Naturals - All Life Stages Dog - Chicken & Rice Formula Dog Food. If there's a food transition, it will be easier for his digestive system to acclimate to a different dog food.
