Handsome Rexx Needs his person Right Away! Less than 72 hours to make it out! Needs adoption or Rescue by Tues 05/06 EOD!! Video: https://fb.watch/znGkpfe6ri/?mibextid=wwXIfr&fs=e 3 yr old, 60 lbs Rexx (ID #A2181706) has had a life of instability. On Feb. 1st, animal control officers were called by LAPD to assist at a homeless encampment. Rexx & a female dog with 2 puppies were inside the tent guarding it (mama & babies have been rescued). The person in the tent claimed ownership, but could not properly keep Rexx safe and never returned for him. Rexx has been, understandably, nervous and stressed with this new confinement. He was avoidant of people & dogs in the beginning at the shelter. But recently, after several outings, Rexx is starting to open up! And guess what? This young boy loves to Play! He will romp around the yard, play bowing (and barking at ) his person to keep the game going. He walks very well on leash, will approach for treats with a soft mouth, and knows a few commands. In a recent playgroup, he enjoyed a game of chase & was the loosest we've seen him be (playgroup notes share that Rexx is most social w/ female dogs & may be less tolerant of intact males). But sadly, just when we feel like we're getting to know Rexx, his Time is Up. He is Euth Alerted for kennel stress. He has until Tues 05/06 EOD to make it out. We want to see Rexx given a chance to thrive and grow with the stability of a loving home! He needs a person who'll go slow with him, allowing him time to decompress from all he's been through, & to acclimate to life in a home.
