About Akira

June update from Akira's current foster home: She's still doing well overall. She's gained a lot of confidence on walks and exploring the house, though still nervous. She is still interested in the other dogs but we haven't seen her full on play with them - just that she enjoys being near them. She greets them and has tail wagging and excited sneezes but hasn't figured out how she wants to play yet. (The same thing she does with us haha) On walks, she still prefers quiet, low traffic environments. Especially in nature where there are very few people or noises. She perks up on each walk and gets really excited now! We have taken her out to more busy environments to help build her confidence and she's done generally well on walks that are more crowded with to people -partly bc of the added confidence with the other dogs. But doesn't prefer it. She still tries to chase the cat, so we keep them separated. She's gained a bit of weight (thankfully) and we found a food that she is motivated with and really enjoys :) Meet Akira: Beautiful Akira is an adult female Shiba Inu looking for a special home. She's a great dog but needs quiet surroundings - no city life and noises for this girl, they make her nervous. A quiet suburban or rural home will be perfect for her. She has had playdates with other adult dogs and seemed to enjoy playing and walking with them. She enjoys cuddling in your lap once she's comfortable. Because she does best in a calm quiet environment we think young children would not be ideal. Cats are unknown. As you can see, she loves her walkies so someone who can take her on walks in quiet areas is perfect for Miss Akira
