I'm exploring rehoming options for my 50 lbs mix-breed dog Jovi. He lives peacefully in a home with small children, and happily cohabited with other dogs. He is a goofy and high energy boy who just wants to love and be loved. It is not an easy decision to think about finding a new home for him, but I think it could be in his best interest. Jovi is a loving family dog who unfortunately has a high prey drive and is not thriving in our urban neighborhood. He has developed a habit of bolting out of our yard when the gate has been ajar, and chased and attacked a free roaming cat. Because there are kids living here and it is an active and always changing environment, I'm not able to provide a 100% guarantee that the steps I'm taking to secure our fence will keep all neighborhood animals completely safe. I'm working with a trainer to address his behavior, but I want to explore if there could be a better home for him. He is not an escape artist (does not dig or climb over fences) and is not aggressive or anxious (can be protective). He walks well and leash, and knows some basic commands - sit, leave it. He does not have good recall when activated, though I have been working with a trainer and he is improving daily! He's very smart and knows exactly what he can get away with. He could thrive in a family home with a large fenced yard, or with an active individual who could ensure he gets enough stimulation. If you think you might have a home for this loving pup, please contact me.
