Tukker is full blooded red Heeler to the best of my knowledge. He came to us from a farm litter of working Heeler dogs, and both parents were onsite. He has been with us since he was a puppy and his only home since. He has been crate trained and fed since we have had him. He is very comfortable in 'home crate.' He has experience and training in leash walking, and is quick to answer his human commands. He is extremely intelligent, protective, and has the constant urge to work. He has great recall, and learns new task very quickly. We chose to adopt him after losing our 3rd heeler breed. We chose him because of the prior experience with breed and the overall temperament. Tukker is not fond of male figures, and does not like strangers in his space. He deals well with introduced female people. When in our home, he has gotten along well with all of our other adult breed dogs. No exposure to cats. He does however love children. He has been in close contact with infants up to grade school children and is great with them. He keeps a close watchful eye on them, and 'herds' them away from perceived danger. Even though he is high energy, we can find him asleep with our 7 year old. He cherishes one on one time with his 'person.' All in all, he really is great dog. He just happens to be one of the real working class and needs more room, and more tasks to keep him occupied. All he wants is to please his humans, and be given the chance to tackle challenges. He will absolutely please you, given the chance to put in a good days work. Please ake for more information or photos.
