Age: Young Adult

This animal is available to licensed rescue groups only. Please do not enquire unless with a licensed rescue group. This is Suki midnight, that is her full name she is currently 3 years old going on for on July 18th 2025, I have had her since she was a puppy. She has always been a skittish dog, very frightful. When she was smaller around the ages of a puppy up to one to two years old she had bad anxiety. If she saw a stranger from afar because she was so hyperphyxiated on her surroundings she'll be ready in a moment's time to try to squeeze at her harness and run away. She was unfortunately hit by a car when she was around the age of one , fortunately she got spooked by a stranger walking that was far away with their child and possibly other things going on in the surrounding that she heard but I wasn't aware and got out of her harness and tried to run back to the apartment. With that concern, she was placed on trazodone to help with her anxiety. Around Christmas of 2024 or 2023, she developed this abscess on her mouth on the left lower jaw, she was taken to MVS and they lanced it. However, unfortunately it seems like once in a blue moon it returns. When I took her to a vet for diagnostics they did a biopsy and the results came back as subcutaneous mucinosis, prognosis is prednisone during the flare-up. She had a tropion and the surgery was already performed, she started developing it around the time she was a few much shy away from being a year old about time I finally had the money to get the surgery done she did develop some wild fibrosis in both the eyes according to the ophthalmologist. She also does deal with allergies, she seems to have a sensitivity to chicken and lamb, depending on brand if it was Purina, in terms of lamb. So far she seems to be doing well with a salmon based diet. Unfortunately we were homeless for almost a year and a half and throughout that time we were staying with countless people, so a lot of changes within such short times and at least two people who had animals, what happens behind closed doors when you're not there I'm not sure. She was also attacked by a dog when she was around 1 years old, that's why we stopped going to dog parks. Ever since quite a few of those incidences from the changes in our environment and the attack at the dog park, her personality has done a complete change from the shy to McDonald's to now wanting to establish dominance, and also territorial/protectedness about items, such as food and when she did go to dog parks because I tried again. Sticks, she does not like strangers approaching the car come on what she perceives to be her space and of course protective about her space within the home, I wanted to get her in with a behavior specialist to try to work with her and help her. Because I work at a veterinary clinic and I'm able to take her to work with me I noticed she also gets very reactive when she's in her kennel, what she's never done that, walking by cages with other animals or other animals walk by cages he's in and she gets very aggressive however when she was out of the kennel and she's greeting all the other coworkers within a facility she's a happy-go-lucky dog and wants you to love all over her and she wants to smother you a kisses. Once she opens up to you she is a very sweet dog and I know this may be hard to find her a new home because again she's very skittish with strangers and nervous and I can't tell people how long it takes for her to open up to them. Because I can't remember how long it took for her to open up to some of my friends when they used to come over to my apartment and now she absolutely adores and loves them even if she hasn't seen them in a long while. I have been wanting to get her until behavior specialist and to work with her, to see if I can find out what the root of the problem is and if this is something that can be helped however you know that a behavior specialist it's very expensive let alone to continue training because I wanted to continue her training besides her basic sin and come commands. The reason we are here now is because the issues have persistent more to a point that I'm concerned and I'm scared for not just others and for her as well. I don't know how she is with children, she's never been exposed around children, I don't know how she is with males because it is a hit and a miss and I don't know if it's males in general that makes her uncomfortable or if you're approaching her and you're wearing like I had or a hoodie and she just doesn't like it. She seems to be most comfortable with femic and I can't speak on cats because my roommate cat when I tried to introduce her and she was approaching the cat very friendly with inter and he swatted at her she didn't like that too much, however the roommates downstairs cat she was fine with they would walk up to each other and sniff each other and go about their business. We already had two incidents, one with me and one with the neighbor dog. And I just don't know where to go either behavioralist or rehoming her and I really hate to have to do this .
