Rhandi was taken in by me back in Nov. Her previous home she lived with 1 or 2 other cats, 3 dogs and 1 special needs child. She was kept in a bedroom with the other cats but I was told she'd been socialized with a couple of the dogs. Her original owner bought her as a maine coon kitten but I don't have paperwork. Previous owner also named her Rhandi but we've all just called her baby girl so she'd be fine if you want to rename her. I took her in with my 3 kids and 2 male cats. She gets along very well with my 13 & 5 yo sons and my 9 yo daughter but she is afraid of my male cats. She was not spayed when I took her in so she was spraying. And unfortunately it set a precedent with them and they've decided they just don't like her and will chase her to try to fight. She is now fixed but sometimes will pee on something if it smells like them or if one uses her litter box. I clean it meticulously but she won't pee in it. She will pee on the rubber mat it sits on so I've left litter on it for her to go on. She poops in the box just fine. I've tried all types of litter, Feliway, odoban and enzymes to deter her and to help them get along but it's been over 6 months and behavior between them has not gotten any better. She received a clean bill of health when she was spayed and Felv tested. I truly believe if she was the sole cat and could roam freely she'd be just fine. She was very underweight with a thin coat when I got her and she'd pace due to stress/ being in heat. I had her fixed in Dec and she has gained weight. And her coat, mane and tail are now so full and shiny! Since she's been fixed she's less stressed and anxious, but she's always a little skittish with loud noises and when you go to pet her she always has to sniff you first. She's up to date on her shots, Felv negative and chipped. She loves her cat tree and looking out the window. She has been outside a few times and loves to smell everything but she's been an indoor cat and stays close to me when I'm around. She loves to play with toys, make biscuits and purrs all the time. My kids are all in school during the week and I work nights so she sleeps with me during the day. Every morning I come home she's on the windowsill waiting for me when my car pulls in and super chatty awaiting treats or pets. But I just feel she'd be happier by herself with no other cats or dogs around, free to be herself without being chased by other animals. She deserves what I cannot give her and that's why I've decided to rehome her. Adoption fee is just to cover cost of getting her spayed, chipped and up to date on her shots. Those interested in adopting will be given an adoption application to make sure she finds the perfect forever home.
