Name:''Charlie Age: '' 9 weeks '''' Sex: Male ( Not Neutered) Breed: Redbone Coonhound Appx 15-20 pounds Location: Gilmer County, Georgia Vet Info: Charlie is up to date with vaccines. Due to his age, he has not yet been neutered. He was born with no vision in his left eye and sustained an injury to his right eye when he was 6 weeks old. His left eye was recently removed - the right eye remains as the vet believes he might still be able to see light and/or shadows with it. Info From Current Owner: Charlie is a very happy and playful puppy. He loves to sleep with his snuggle puppy and loves to lay on soft pillows. He adapts well to new situations and is working on learning his way around in his home. He is an indoor pup who is confined to smaller areas of the home to help him learn to map his surroundings and to also allow him to heal from his recent eye removal surgery. He is adapting to vision loss but prefers to be with other people and has rarely been left alone. When he has been home alone, he seems to like calming dog music from youtube. Charlie has not yet learned to walk on a leash but is starting to learn verbal commands such as come, pee pad and whoa. Charlie is a very social puppy. He has been good with every human he meets and is also good with other dogs and cats. He has not shown any tendencies of aggression or possessiveness of food or toys. As Charlie is a hound dog, a breed that often eats too fast and gets digestion issues, his current owner has been feeding him by hand and using a slow feeder bowl. Hand feeding also allows him to build trust with humans, get used to human touch and not become food aggressive or possessive. Charlie's owner feels he would do great in a home with a fenced in yard so he could run and play safely and get out his puppy energy. Charlie loves to stretch out in the sunshine and sniff the fresh air. Toys that crinkle or squeak are his favorite. Please email [email protected] if you're interested in this sweetheart.
