About Dutchess

Adoption Fee: $150
German Shepherd
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

URGENT! DEADLINE: 7/31/25! [Case opened on 4/28/25]. NORTH ROYALTON, OHIO (will drive up to 2 hours to meet). 4 Y/O FEMALE GSD (DOB: 10/13/20) . Her name is 'DUTCHESS '. Background: Has been with the same Shepherd Parent since weaned. UTD on shots WITH record. Fixed. Good with OLDER kids. UNKNOWN with dogs outside of home. UNKNOWN with cats. House trained. Crate trained, but does not need, has good behavior when left out and alone. No known medical issues. Some Aggressive Behavior (read below). Currently on Kirkland Healthy Weight food. Weighs 122 lbs. OK with car rides, but is anxious and has to be in a harness / seat belt or she will try to get in the front seat.. Loves: running in a big yard - playing with balls - going on walks - being petted - playing hide and seek treat games. Dutchess is a great girl, but does have some Aggressive Behavior. She has had a recent complete Health checkup and exam and everything came back good. Dutchess does need to warm up slowly when meeting new people so Proper Introduction and time is a MUST. She is very lovable. Food motivated. Very intelligent and knows Basic Commands. She is great on walks seeing other dogs and people. On that same note however, Dutchess has never been up close to another dog outside of the other family dog in the home. Last year Dutchess nipped a 17 year old male friend that was in the home visiting. The male friend took off running up the stairs after the Current Shepherd Parent's granddaughter, who was carrying her baby, and Dutchess ran and nipped the 17-year-old male friend. Another incident was when the Current Shepherd Parent's sister in law was sitting at the table and when she got up to go get a drink, Dutchess nipped her. The family does not feel comfortable with Dutchess around the great grandbaby, who is now starting to walk, so he called a Trainer to come help introduce Dutchess with the baby. Everything seemed to be going well, but then, all of a sudden, Dutchess tried to attack the baby. Because of this, Dutchess needs to get into a home with NO young kids and preferably NO pets. Dutchess needs someone that is preferably Breed Experienced and can help work through this Aggressive Behavior to allow Dutchess to thrive and be the best girl that she can be. Dutchess seems to be very protective when someone is in the home and startles easily when visitors are involved. Comes with: collar, leash, bowls, rug, food container, food, treats, toys RF150 . ***If on RM site, please text me for more pics*** ***Serious Inquiries, please message me for the Rehoming Form.
