Turns out her fear is totally shelter-based, as the moment we had managed to get across the street and she had relieved herself, she perked right up and stepped back into her darling self: So affectionate, so beautiful on a leash, possessing the kind of sweetness that made me want to take her in my arms and make a run for it (she's small enough that it would have been possible.)
