About Dakota

Meet stunning Dakota! This beautiful boy is a German Shepherd mix, what with we're not entirely sure possibly Anatolian as he is a big boy weighing over 75 pounds. Dakota is very sweet boy with the people he knows and he's great with other dogs big and small, (cats unknown) He has been in Rescue for nearly a year being passed by because he is super protective of his house and of his yard which is very common with this breed, but Dakota doesn't seem to understand that we don't need that much protection :-) he's extremely intimidating to people when they come near the house he has a deep bark that has certainly kept many a person away. However when he gets to meet you he makes friends very quickly and within a few minutes it's hard to believe it's the same dog! He just loves to protect his family and home. Dakota is house and crate trained, he's a very clean and healthy boy and we are looking for a home where people understand German shepherds and we understand Dakota's need to protect. He is nearly 4 years old healthy micro chipped up-to-date on his shots. His adoption donation of $400 includes Dakota all medical expenses his health certificate for travel and the travel costs from Texas where he is currently being fostered.
