About Ash

Hello my name is Ash! I'm spayed and going to be 3 this year. I am small for my breed weighing around 25 lbs but less than 30. My mom is going through some health stuff and can no longer provide the active environment that I need. My qualities: - I am super loving and if you looked up Velcro in the dictionary, you'd find a picture of me. I love cuddles! - I have a ton of energy and love to run. I've enjoyed playing with frisbees when my mom was up for it. I never really had interest in balls though. - I live for bones and treats. When treats are involved, I am great at learning. - For the most part, I get along with other dogs. I haven't been around many other types of animals. My sister has been mean to me but I don't like to retaliate. - I do have the urge to chase fast/fun things which could be useful if I was put to work. - I do have previous training but mom hasn't been able to continue implementing many commands. Mostly sit, down, wait, and stay are regularly used. I also have been taught place in the past and am open to refreshing and learning new things. My Quirks: - I need a job/outlet for my abundance of energy. When my brain and body aren't put to work, I can get anxious. - I am very vocal and will communicate many things. This includes when it's meal time, when someone arrives or leaves, when something loud happens, someone runs by too quickly, basically anything exciting will get me talking about it! - I do okay in public settings such as the park or somewhere no too overstimulating. Other more busy places like large pet stores get me a little anxious but I still tend to do well just a little more scared. - I don't feel confident when wearing a harness. I prefer the comfort of a collar and even better a prong collar. - When traveling, I am calmer in a crate but I do sometimes whine for a minute. If another friend is in their crate it helps comfort me. - I do love to chase fast and loud moving things. - I am mouthy and although it hasn't been aggressive more so excited nipping, this is something to keep in mind. My dream for a new home would be someone that knows how to work with my quirks, expend my energy through training, sports, or just regular activity. I am special and sweet and my mom just wants me to have a full life that meets my needs since she is currently unable.
