About Patch

Patch will be one year old in May! He's a playful, loving dog who enjoys being around people and other dogs-with proper introductions. He previously lived with a female Rottweiler, and the two got along great! They spent their days playing or napping next to each other. Patch is a true people-pup-he loves being near you, whether he's laying at your feet or entertaining himself with toys. He prefers tug-of-war toys over tennis balls (he's more likely to chew those up), and he really enjoys dogwood bones. Durable toys are best for his play style! He's crate-trained, potty-trained, and prefers to sleep in his crate at night. His feeding schedule is breakfast at 7 a.m. and dinner at 6 p.m. While he has no known allergies, he's been on salmon-based dog food most of his life, as his former housemate had a chicken allergy. Patch adores belly rubs and cuddles. With cuddling he'll either want to be face-to-face, lay on your chest or curl up by your feet. He's up-to-date on all his vaccinations. I have his printed vet records ready. Patch is great during bath time and will even hop into the tub himself. Sometimes I'll put a little peanut butter on plastic wrap on the wall as a distraction. He's incredibly friendly, his bark can sound intimidating to some, it's just excitement! It's best to introduce him to new people while on a leash, as he can get anxious if approached while in his crate, same with other dogs. He knows basic commands like sit, stay, down, and spin, but he could still use some work on leash training. He enjoys learning new tricks.
