We got a call about Bitsy from the breeder that she had a puppy that was not doing well (via call to her from her son). She had an emergency with her elderly mother and had to leave for another state for an unknown amount of time so she had to leave her dogs in the care of her son. Unfortunately when she had her son bring Bitsy to us she was in absolutely horrible condition and we were unsure if she would even make it through the night. As you see the top 2 pictures she is nothing but skin and bones. However she had the will to eat. She is the runt of the litter of 5 so she was the underdog from the start. We started to feed her with a syringe at first and that seemed to be the key. She was 1.4 pounds at 7 weeks old. Yes she was/is tiny!!! Bitsy has not been in out adoption center, she has been in a home and is being pampered. She currently eats her puppy milk, pumpkin & canned food mixture 4 times a day. She does still have a heating pad she sleeps on and a heartbeat pad to comfort her as she sleeps. We leave hard food down for her at all times and she has started to graze on that. Which is absolutely wonderful to see her wanting to eat big girl food. Currently she weighs 2.2 pounds and her birth date is 2/20/25. Bitsy does like to go outside to potty. She will pee in her puppy play pen, but she like to do her big girl business outside in the grass. Bitsy is very small and wiggley. She will need to be safe in the home she goes to. Which means no young children that may want to carry her around. She does like to chase your feet so she may be a trip hazzard for an elderly. These are just cautions to keep everyone safe. We would hate to have someone stumble and fall trying to avoid her under foot. If you are interested in her adoption please text or email us to request an application.
