Coco is a sweet and soulful 5�%BD-year-old Dachshund who's ready to start the next chapter of his life with someone who will love him as much as he'll love them. Weighing in at 22 pounds, Coco is looking to shed about 6 of those pounds with the help of regular walks and a healthy diet-he's up for the challenge if you are! Originally purchased as a puppy from Petland in Iowa City, Coco has been a beloved companion, but unfortunately, due to his previous owners' ongoing health issues, they've made the difficult decision to find him a new home where he can continue to thrive. Coco is incredibly people-focused and forms deep bonds with those he trusts. While he may be a bit shy when meeting new folks, give him a few minutes and a gentle approach-soon enough, you'll see his affectionate, loyal side shine through. He loves nothing more than to be near his humans, soaking up attention and giving sweet, quiet companionship in return. He gets along well with other dogs and would do just fine in a home with canine siblings, though his heart truly belongs to his people. Whether he's curled up beside you during a cozy evening or trotting next to you on a leash for a potty break, Coco is all about being your little shadow. Coco is very well house-trained and is used to going potty on leash walks, making him a great fit for a home with or without a fenced yard. His ideal adopter will be someone patient and gentle, willing to let him warm up at his own pace-and in return, they'll be rewarded with the unwavering loyalty and love of a truly special little dog.
