NOW ON DEADLINE FOR 4/27 TO COMMIT OR THEY WILL LIKELY BE EUTHANIZED 4/28 AM. THEY ARE 'RESCUE ONLY' BY A 'NEW HOPE PARTNER ONLY' which means they can NOT be adopted from the shelter directly, and New Hope partner must pull them out. Therefore, since rescues need a place for a dog to go, WE NEED A CHOW SAVVY FOSTER(s), FOSTER TO ADOPT AND OR A RESCUE TO SAVE THEM IN TIME. Emergency/soon to be euthanized! We are in urgent need of finding a chow savvy foster or two, or at least a foster familiar with undersocialized pups. Now named Lala and Blush, they are kenneled together and came in around the same time as two cream males (who are not on the euth list yet like the girls). They are believed to have been dumped by a backyard breeder. Not surprisingly, the girls are understandably scared as many chows are in a shelter. Sadly, for this reason, the shelter has made them both 'Rescue Only'. Although detailed notes show fairly typical chow behavior of just being shy with strangers, the shelter decided for each pup that, 'Canine is exhibiting consistent concerning behaviors both in and out of the kennel, including avoidant behaviors and under-socialized behavior. Placement with a New Hope Partner is required by close of business 04/27/2025 to support further assessment, prevent behavioral decline, and minimize the risk of escalation. Canine may be at risk for euthanasia 04/28/2025 or sooner if warranted.'
