About Jay

Adoption Fee: $400.00
Australian Cattle Dog
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

Jay or JJ is a really good dog. He is still learning his name. We have a very active home with a lot of dogs. After almost three weeks we have fallen in love with this handsome young boy. Below are some traits we picked up. Non destructive Crate free Can be free fed He is dog friendly potty trained Not hyper Sleeps all night per his request a crate. (We tried our bed but he seems to sleep better in a crate) Not a typical Heeler or herder (no ankle biting) Seems to like cats (he sniffed the barn cat) Very good with kids (under direct supervision) I saw zero concern or fear when near my 19 month old grandson A few quirks He is slightly inpatient and will bark (very minimal occasions) Some food aggression with other dogs. He likes card board but has not done anything wrong inside the house. He can jump very high and possibly could jump a fence if he wanted He likes to be with someone so if he is in the yard and you are away from him he will bark He doesn't like long walks or even short walks he is lazy %BD%BD%BD%BD and will put the breaks on. He sorta walks on a leash. Doesn't pull at all but he zig zags and could be a tripping hazard %BDs%A0%BD%BD%8F For more up to date information on this dog please go to our website @ https://www.playk9rescue.org/adopt-a-dog The adoption fee for this pet covers the cost of care and training which may have been for several weeks or several months depending on the health and training needs. The fee also covers all vet bills during this time to ensure his/her health is improved or maintained and provides you with assurance that this dog has been well cared for while in our possession and evaluated to meet your home's needs. Included in this fee is also life- long training support provided by PLAY! K9 Academy located in Bradenton, FL as well as Life time microchip registration. When you adopt from a local shelter, you may not receive any medical history for this dog nor will you receive any behavioral history. We hope you understand that the minimal adoption fee we are asking is to continue our mission to rescue unwanted herding and working breeds from shelters/owners and get them adopted to their forever home.
