Please help us find a good and dog savvy home for adorable Sir Fluff! He was originally found as a stray and ended up at the Apple Valley kill shelter where he was listed as a chow pei mix. When he ended up on the euthanasia list, a good samaritan offered to foster him on his final day in hopes of finding a permanent home once he was out of the scary shelter. This Good Samaritan has several dogs of her own and never intended to keep Sir Fluff who is now at the Pasadena shelter. At the temporary home, they said he did well with the other dogs in it, both large and small, male and female. Now at the Pasadena shelter, he has been further assessed by this shelter and made available to adopt. Sir Fluff was described by his temporary home/foster as a petite, shy boy who allowed petting on first day at this home. They he was 'very docile, likes people and dogs' and they gave us nice videos showing his calm demeanor and him enjoying pets. Sadly, after they brought him to a new environment, after returning from a late night walk, he got scared, did not want to go back in, and began alligator rolling. After tugging him to get him inside, he finally bit this person unexpectedly. Prior to this, he showed zero aggression and had been handled all over, easily touching his mouth and placing pills down his throat. We do not know if he was hurt in the process, or just scared, but the good sam who is offering to pay for some training to help with his fear so we can hopefully avoid any future problems. Now at the Pasadena shelter, Sir Fluff has already served his quarantine and was deemed adoptable. They can provide further notes to adopters or rescues, and we can also put you in touch with the good sam who is offering to pay for some training. Sir Fluff is already potty trained, chipped, vaccinated, and recently neutered. He was estimated to be approximately 1.5 years old and weighs only 38 lbs, so he is perfect sized and ready for a new home. While he has been friendly with big and small; dogs at the foster home, if you have another pet, a meet and greet is always recommended and slow introduction on neutral turf. He has not been tested with or around outside dogs, cats or kids yet. Potential adopters are asked to email [email protected] or call 626-792-7151 x971.
