About Jeff

We're reaching out with heavy hearts in hopes of finding a better-suited home for our dog, Jeff. He's a beautiful and loving dog in many ways, but we've been struggling with some behavioral issues that have made it difficult for him to fully thrive in our home. Jeff does not get along with other dogs, though he's okay with our chihuahua, who he was raised with. His aggressive behavior toward other dogs means we can't take him on walks or outings, and we're also concerned about the safety of our cats around him. While we have a decent-sized yard (about half an acre) where he can run and play, he's caused quite a bit of damage to our garden, which has been difficult for my husband, who spent years cultivating it. We had Jeff neutered at 6 months and even sent him to a 3-week training course as a pup. Despite our efforts, his behavioral tendencies have been hard to manage, and we believe he needs more time, attention, and consistency than we're currently able to give. When we got Jeff, my husband was a stay-at-home dad and had planned to dedicate a lot of time to training him. Unfortunately, life circumstances changed and he had to return to work, leaving us stretched thin with small children and several other pets. This has been a heartbreaking decision, but we want what's best for Jeff. He's a smart, energetic dog who we believe has great potential in the right hands. We are hoping to find someone experienced with dogs like Jeff-someone who has the time and patience to continue his training and give him the structure and attention he needs.
