PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE BIO ON THIS DOG BEFORE REQUESTING AN APPLICATION. MANY OF OUR DOGS HAVE STRICT REQUIREMENTS FOR THEIR ADOPTION. 11-month-old male Chiweenie, about 12 pounds. Active, playful yet snuggly. Always on the move or pestering a doggie to play. Loves to eat, yet too active to get fat. :) It is a bit hard to keep weight on him. A tad timid with strangers but loves dogs. He will require another playful dog in the home and a yard to run in! He needs to move, wrestle and play! Cats unknown, but my guess is he will try to play with them. Has learned how to use the doggie door and walk on a leash. He sleeps in his crate at night. He is affectionately called 'the weasel', as he is super long bodied, as all Doxie are, and slippery to hold onto when he lengthens himself out like a hot dog! Doxie lovers requested, as he has all the safe keeping needs for Doxies. Smidget Rescue is not a shelter, and dogs cannot be seen at the Rescue location. All dogs are fostered throughout the Puget Sound area and are brought to the events where they can be met by prospective adopters. Puppies are adopted with a refundable spay/neuter deposit (in addition to the adoption fee) and adopters are required to get their puppy to our vet for their pre-scheduled spay-neuter appointments. You must live within a three-hour radius of Seattle, WA, (such as Portland, Vancouver B.C., etc.), so we can arrange for a home visit. If your home seems like a great fit for the dog you would like to adopt, you must then drive to meet the dog at one of our weekend events or at the fosters home.
