About Hobbit

Corgi / German Shepherd
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE BIO ON THIS DOG BEFORE REQUESTING AN APPLICATION. MANY OF OUR DOGS HAVE STRICT REQUIREMENTS FOR THEIR ADOPTION. 1 year old male Corgi/Shepherd? mix, about 17 pounds. Hobbit was one of 8 dogs abandoned at a water reservoir in Yakima. After surviving a coyote attack, several dogs came our way with this super cute guy being one of them. Hobbit was one of the lucky ones who did not get hurt. Hobbit is very sweet but shy. His previous life was very lacking in life skills, so he has begun his leash training and learning about the big world, like city noise and new places. While he is very curious, his timid nature has him stop to absorb all the new experiences. Time and exposure will help him get past his fears. Walking with him is very fun if you can join in experiencing the world! While he is very anxious if left alone, he is not specially attached to any one person. He is very sweet and accepting of anyone who engages with him gently. I have not seen a hint of aggression in him. He is good with other dogs, but cats are unknown. He would do best in a house with a yard as he can be noisy when left alone. He could be an only dog but does better with a confident doggie friend that will play with him and to follow and give him confidence. He will probably be fine with respectful older kids. To request an adoption application, email [email protected] Adoption contract and fee applies. All adoptable dogs can be met at adoption events hosted every weekend. For a list of scheduled events go to: https://www.facebook.com/SmidgetRescue/events . Smidget Rescue is not a shelter, and dogs cannot be seen at the Rescue location. All dogs are fostered throughout the Puget Sound area and are brought to the events where they can be met by prospective adopters. Additional pictures of adoptable dogs can be seen at: https://www.facebook.com/SmidgetRescue/photos_stream?tab=photos_albums. All adoptable dogs are spayed or neutered at 6 months of age or older. Puppies are adopted with a refundable spay/neuter deposit (in addition to the adoption fee) and adopters are required to get their puppy to our vet for their pre-scheduled spay-neuter appointments. APPLICATIONS CAN BE OBTAINED BY EMAIL ONLY. Adoption process includes application, meet & greet, home visit and reference check. Email Jamie at [email protected] or click on the CONTACT link on this page. PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS BEFORE SENDING. 8632781We get a fair number of incorrect emails and Jamie is not able to contact potential adopters. Notice: We do not ship dogs out of state. You must live within a three-hour radius of Seattle, WA, (such as Portland, Vancouver B.C., etc.), so we can arrange for a home visit. If your home seems like a great fit for the dog you would like to adopt, you must then drive to meet the dog at one of our weekend events or at the fosters home.
