Meet Rosie! This 1 year old, 70lbs golden retriever/lab mix came to us from the Riverside Shelter after being found wandering alone wearing a harness and leash. Her people never came for her, which is wild because she is SUCH a sweet girl! Rosie already knows sit, down, come, and kennel. She is super loving and very people-oriented. She appears to be potty trained in her foster home. So far she's been good in a kennel for a couple of hours, but we haven't left her for longer. She's definitely a velcro pup who would prefer to be with her people as much as possible! This cutie is VERY strong and needs work on a leash because she can get very excited when she sees new people and dogs on walks. She's making improvements in her foster home, but she will need a furever home that can keep working with her. She also does have some protective/fearful tendencies that cause her to bark (loudly), so a family that can help her learn she doesn't need to protect them and that they will protect her will be key for this angel. Rosie is good with dogs her size or larger with a slow introduction. We would not recommend her to a home with smaller dogs as she may unintentionally hurt a small dog during play (she doesn't fully understand how big she is). For families with children, we are only recommending Rosie to homes with kids over the age of 10 due to her size. Overall, Rosie is a sweetheart and will make a wonderful addition to a very lucky home.
