Hey everyone, this is Blue! She's an Australian Cattle Dog mixed with Border Collie (but mostly cattle dog). With a baby on the way, we're heartbroken to say we need to find a new home for her. Blue is super energetic and needs a lot of attention and activity. She's an amazing dog, but she's not great with young kids, which is why we've made the tough decision to rehome her. That said, she's great with other dogs and even cats-she honestly loves all kinds of animals! A little backstory on Blue: she recently completed a 2-month rehabilitation training program with Day to Day Dog Training (check him out on Instagram-there are a bunch of videos showing her progress). The trainer is fantastic and really helped her grow. She went to training because she had bitten me twice and showed signs of food aggression, along with some other behavioral things we wanted to work on. Since finishing her program, she's made huge improvements. Blue isn't the kind of dog who loves strangers right off the bat. She needs time to warm up to new people-usually 3-5 meetups before she's comfortable enough to be touched. You'll get a sense of her comfort level once you spend a little time around her. She needs a home without young kids-teenagers are totally fine. She's super fun and adventurous: she loves hiking, swimming, exploring, and being outdoors in general. Now, because of her training, there's a bit of a process to adopting her. Her trainer is based in Syracuse, NY, and if you're seriously considering taking her, you'd need to make a trip out there first. He'll walk you through everything you need to know-how to handle her, how to keep her balanced, and how to make sure she thrives. The great part is, because we already paid for her program, you'd get free training for life through him-he's always just a call or visit away if you ever need help down the line. If you think you might be the right fit for Blue, please send me a message. We'd love to hop on a call and chat more. Our biggest priority is making sure she goes to a home where she'll be truly loved, cared for, and understood. She deserves the absolute best. As much as we wish we could keep her, it just wouldn't be fair to her with a baby coming soon.
