About Ash

Ash is a stunning 2-year-old Australian Shepherd mix weighing about 80 pounds. He's a smart, high-energy dog who thrives in active settings and would do especially well with someone familiar with herding breeds. Ash is deeply loyal and forms strong bonds, especially with women. He's great with other dogs and does well with cats too-he enjoys the company of other animals and responds well in multi-pet environments. Ash can be wary of new men and is fearful around children, so we're hoping to find a calm, child-free home where he can feel secure and understood. He does best when introduced to people at his own pace and in a structured environment. We want to be transparent that Ash did have one bite incident involving an electrician who entered his designated room without warning. The bite was superficial and did not require medical attention, and is believed to reflect bite inhibition rather than aggression. This incident occurred in a moment of fear and surprise, and we believe with continued structure and positive reinforcement, Ash can continue to build trust and confidence. Ash has so much love to give and just needs the right environment to help him feel safe. He's playful, intelligent, and wants to connect-he just needs someone patient and experienced who can meet him where he is and help him continue to grow.
