About Bodhi (Boe-dee)

Bodhi (Boe-dee) is a 5 year old neutered Doxie-Heeler mix coming from a home with one other dog and two cats. He's extremely loving, curious, and playful. He gets excited around strangers (he screams) but isn't fearful. He favors a doxie body but as you can see, he has a heeler head. He's coming from my now deceased grandmother's home in the Slidell area. He stands under a foot tall from the floor to his head, weighs right around 23 lbs, and fully housetrained. He knows how to 'sit' and 'go get it' to play fetch. He's leash trained, has a harness, and won't put up a fight when you bathe him. Things to know: Let's start with the challenges. He is extremely fearful of being picked up. According to my grandmother, he was like this since she rescued him at 16 weeks old. He will grump at you for picking him up, but he never nips, bites, or snaps. She used to take him to the dog park regularly with his brother Blitz (we are keeping Blitz) and while he would try to hump to be dominant, he never had a problem being put in his place by other dogs, though he would never lay down and roll over submit. He's not been vaccinated in two years. He's got fleas (I've dipped him and treated him with K9 Advantix) but he has bruising and missing hair from where he really was digging in. Seems to be improving now. He does have major travel anxiety and will cover your car in vomit and drool if you don't keep a chicken nugget in front of his face for the entire ride LOL Distraction seems to take care of his anxiety in a vehicle. Honestly, he's the sweetest dog ever and I hate I can't convince my apartment complex to allow me two pets instead of one so I can take him with me to San Antonio after I sell my gram's property. But, I can't afford to move elsewhere either. He loves to snuggle under the covers and become that lump you can't move out of the way when tossing and turning at night haha He's just the sweetest. Loves to hug you while out on walks (He'll stand up and hug you, literally!). He's very much a watch dog as in, every little noise, he's going to let you know. So, if you want an alert dog, this is your boy. But, HE WILL SHUT UP if you tell him to quit XD I need to rehome him no later than the middle of September.
