Say hello to Nova! Nova is a well behaved, loyal, intelligent, companion who is in IMMEDIATE need of rehoming. Nova has been a loyal partner to her dad who has been in active addiction for most of their journey together. Their semi-nomadic lifestyle has created a very well adjusted and laid back personality for a Siberian Husky. She is shy and likes to get to know folks on her terms when she's inside, but outside and on car rides are her favorite, so she's easy to get along with, and quickly settles into routine. Nova is our grandpuppers, and has lived with us from time to time, so we have enjoyed her company and ease of transition. Her dad has bravely agreed that Nova deserves to have a stable environment and that he cannot provide that for her any longer. Nova's situation is urgent. Her dad has just surrendered her to us and she is currently kenneled at our 150 acre ranch, but cannot be in the house as we have acquired 3 cats since Nova's last stay with us; additionally her strong prey drive has resulted in a few chicken fatalities and she can no longer be off leash. We are very busy running our own businesses and are rarely home, so Nova isn't getting the attention or exercise that is recommended for her breed. Her dad insists that she can be acclimated to cats; we've seen pictures to verify, however, after seeing how quickly she discharges a chicken, we unfortunately aren't willing to try. Because of her history, Nova would do BEAUTIFULLY in the city with regular walks and companionship, or in a smaller home with a VERY secure, fenced yard (she's a runner, however she may not be as inclined to go for a run if she was getting the appropriate exercise and attention she deserved). Nova is great around children and other dogs and lots of activity, especially outside - her dad even taught her to fetch which we've been told is unique to her breed. We have video of her with the 'ranch pack' and at the beach with our lab for any interested party. Nova is a medium to low energy 5 year old, Husky and is tragically used to being in the room with her dad who would sometimes sleep long hours or sadly pass out, so she is beautifully housetrained and used to waiting on her human. She would ADORE being home with someone who is working remotely and takes breaks to go on several small walks throughout the day! We have a very full house of pets and Nova's situation is dire. She needs and deserves her fur-ever family NOW. Nova's physical and mental health isn't great and she is regressing - we have exhausted all of our resources - local shelters are full and veterinary care is non-existent in our area. She has no history of food aggression and free feeds. She has a soft mouth and does not have a history of chewing. We have knowledge of vet visits in the past few years, however it would be wise to have a checkup with a veterinarian as soon as possible, that is why we aren't asking for a large re-homing fee. Nova is in Coos County Oregon and she will do best for her introduction and new journey if she is picked up and taken in the car for a nice ride to her new home, which is her FAVORITE thing to do. Please help us - we've been told that Huskies get euthanized at alarming rates and we have had no success on any other platforms. More pictures and information available upon request - please text a brief statement to the number listed about why you are interested in Nova and we will reach out for a chat.
