About Rain

We have been fostering Rain for the past several months. Rain has been a dream dog in so many ways. She is the SWEETEST dog, so good with kids, other dogs and cats. Rain is about 40lbs. She has really good recall and really wants to please. From our experience, she is friendly with everyone and everything she meets but does tend to choose one person as her person. She seems to have a preference towards women and we suspect she may have been abused by a man based on her extreme submissiveness around them. She lives to play ball and fetch. She will play forever but is also really good about settling down and being done whenever the ball goes away. She's not super destructive and can be left alone without issue. She is also fully crate trained and does like going in her crate for the night or when we are away. She is a great companion and friend and my most favorite thing about her is that she gives hugs. She will rest her head on your shoulder and lean into you. She's also super goofy and does random funny things all the time. She loves to snuggle. She really is the whole package. I had every intention of keeping her forever and putting in the work to make it work. However, we have several rabbits and Rain's prey drive is too much to try to manage with so many around. After several months of trying a variety of different things to make it work, it's still just too stressful and I'm constantly worried about her getting one of the rabbits. She does good if you are in the same room and watching her, but if you are out of sight she cannot be trusted. Rain does have medium energy and needs some kind of exercise everyday or every other day at least. She would love a dog friend. She is truly a wonderful dog. I wish so badly we could keep her.
