About Nova

Meet Nova, she is an 11month old Great Dane NOT spayed yet. She is such a sweet dog, I rescued her from someone off Facebook who I asked all the right questions to but they lied. They told me she was just shy and needed to warm up to me, after having her these few months I have realized that is not the case. She has been previously severally abused. (NOT BY ME)I tried my absolute hardest to do everything I could do to give her the best life she deserves but she needs a trainer and training to help build her confidence up, she will also most likely require anxiety meds. I have called to all the shelters to try and see if someone can help me pay for her training because what I was quoted is significantly out of my price range. I called several different places, including West Michigan canine and a pleasant dog .I love this dog but I know she needs help and I've come to the devastating realization I can't give her what she needs to be happy and healthy. I will be picky who she goes to. She needs a home with ; someone who can afford her training or has trained abused dogs first hand (not on TikTok or YouTube) has a fenced in yard or property for her to run, and preferably previous large breed experience. She is good with other dogs but has a slight jealous streak when other dogs are getting attention, she pushes them out of her way, not aggressively but in a 'I'm bigger than you move' kind of way. But has also showed signs of potential food aggression and will need to be fed away from other animals . I am devistated and would literally do anything for her if I could afford her training but I can't. Like I said I want to keep her but she deserves better after being beaten with a belt, starved and having cigarettes put out on her. (This is based on her scars I've found while having her)
