About Smokie

Meet Smokie! Smokie is a year and a half old, and although we aren't totally sure of his breed, it is believed he is in the wolfhound category, as well as possibly the catahoula category as well. He is definitely a large breed mix and we call him our Mohawk man! This is because Smokie has a patch down his back in the exact shape of a mohawk that is a darker color grey than the rest of him, it really sticks out! His fur isn't the only thing unique about Smokie, he is super tall and is the sweetest boy you'll ever meet. When hanging out with Smokie he tends to lean, he takes full advantage if you are next to him his whole body weight will be against you in no time. Smokie is trained very well on his harness and he walks great on a leash, when at home Smokie was left on only a harness and he didn't run off or try to go anywhere, he knew where home was! Smokie loves to play with his rescuemates and hasn't had any issues with other dogs or people at all, we even take him on double leashed walks and he loves to lead. He is a little bit of a talker, he does good with alerting you if someone is coming to the door but he doesn't bark unnecessarily. Though he loves to sunbathe and snuggle Smokie does have a playful side to him and he is very gentle doing so. Smokie is really good at playing fetch when he is feeling energetic, he brings it back and drops it in your hand. Smokie does well with everyone who comes in and gives him love, and he does particularly like kids! Smokie is a very friendly, handsome, loving boy and is ready to meet his new family!
